Libraries of Marach

Established long ago in the grand city of Torun, the first Library was the central hub of knowledge for the civilized world. The founder of the library was Marach, a Deva of unusually long life (even for their own race) and chief scholar/theologian of the realm. Publicly, Marach was praised for his intelligence, logic, and faith in Ioun by the leaders of all nations. Privately, Marach was often suspected of being mentally unstable, a maniac with flashes of brilliance largely kept in check by the Librarians, a sect of adepts charged with keeping the Libraries flourishing.

Libraries were established in major cities all over the world, often in conjunction with a Temple of Ioun. One of the most famous was Gamal’s Oasis.
